Memtest 1.70+1.70=3.4, why is that for? No 1.80 before knowing that 1.70 is the current version?

Words of caution for both of these beta's. They were already pulled from the official site as there are tons of problems that I can even vouch for especially with cpu-z. Good example is my maximus is showing as an X48 board instead of the correct X38 chipset.

Cpu-z still reads my voltage wrong as with every version i've ever tried with my Q6600. When are they going to fix this?

CPU-Z, sweet, but Memtest=FAIL. Seriously, it couldn't even detect any errors for 8 hours in RAM that was defective........this app detected errors in 30s.....yea. I think it has to do with the amount of memory that can be allocated for testing at any given time....but I'm not sure.

a. Open source. b. Doesn't need an operating system environment. If you are trying to diagnose a problem (if you don't know what it is) this is a good tool to use. And usually, what I've found, is that if ram is defective you will get some errors relatively quickly. I wonder how that Windows "MemTest" works...

I have seen Memtest 86 bootable give errors, but that was only when I purposely set crazy timings to make sure I didn't have a bad copy.....trust me man, Memtest86 isn't a good tool to stability test for OCing. It will only catch the most extreme defects. I would go with HCI Memtest (also open source), OCCT, Prime 95 blended, Orthos blended....well you get the idea. Quote:
