Default [ExpRev] Gigabyte unveils Voltage Gear Overdrive, Gamer HUD, and 8800GT with new cool

Quote:
We have reported Gamer HUD before. In those time we think other brand’s 8800GT flashed with Gigabyte’s bios can also use the applications. But now Gigabyte adds a power control chip on the card and it made our idea become impossible.

The chip is called “Voltage Gear Overdrive”. With the chip and the software Gamer HUD, users can adjusting the GPU voltage for 3D gaming, or save some powers from the electtricty intensive 8800GT.

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

Yeah, I'd like to see alot more software implement this kind of thing. Maybe one day we will be able to consult the video BIOS like the motherboard? Sounds kinda crazy I know..

I'm so happy to have bought my gigabyte 8800gt, I didn't even know about this until a couple of days ago. I wonder when this will be released, I'm really itching to get past that unstable 756mhz mark 775+ here I come!

I think this has been a long time coming. With how many people do voltage mods it makes sense to have that ability built into the card. If this works like gigabyte's easy tune, which really is EASY to use, it could be great for a lot of people and open up a lot of options for overclockers.
