That would require at least a hundred billion people to sign the petition... there are about six billion people on earth...

Jesus christ. Whats with all these petitions to stop the progress of technology? Its not going to change anything, these online petitions never work. The only time it has worked is with bioshock for a limited edition version, which is a bit different anyway. And he's also wrong anyway, blu-ray is technologically superior because of the capacity. I don't know about audio.

In other words, this is hopeless.

don't sign that crap, HD-DVD isn't the future, blue Ray is. Anyone who has a 360 and thinks they're watching true HD is getting yanked. i don't see USB trasporting that amount of data required fast enough for true HD video. and does the Premium 360 not only do 720p? you need the elite with HDMI to get 1080p true on your HDTV.

Blue Ray FTW

While I was never a fan of Bluray (and especially NOT a fan of Sony) I'm glad that WB made a decision because I definitely want to be rid of competing formats... until the next gen format comes along and someone decides that they just have to screw all the consumers and launch a competitor with it.

ummmmmmmm - if you're watching HD-DVD on a 360.... yes you are getting yanked. Even with the elite - it doesn't support true 1080p sadly.

But if you're watching it on a standalone player - then no.

And people laughed at me when I decide to sit this trial of technology out until there was a clear victor.

Blu-Ray or HD DVD couldn't matter less to me, I just want everyone to pick a format and move on.

Next up .... nicely priced HDTVs that don't suck - maybe some nice OLEDs

I can't believe some of you guys got your panties in a bundle over a disk with a different name. They use the same laser, do the same exact thing... Yet, you're all worried about the name.

And I think I need to say it again: the consumer is going to decide the war, not a comparison chart of specs and a judge looking it over.

well it is cheaper i'll admit to that but it doesn't do 1080p i know not everyone has 1080p displays but for those of us that do it's nice to have something that uses them to the full advantage the 1080p hd dvd player at best buy is still cheaper than the blu ray player -- online i haven't been to the store so i don't know about that price

good info but i prefer blu ray myself because of more storage capacity
