Blue Ray FTW
This is a typical biased fanboy comment.

While I chose no sides and enjoy both atm, it makes me sad that there are so many uninformed people in this world who get confused by mass media marketing.

The 360 DOES output in full 1080P through HDMI and VGA. It DOES NOT, however, have the ability to properly output all of the audio tracks. For pitcure quality there is no difference between the 360 and other HD DVD players through HDMI. I own a standalone HD DVD player, 360 add-on, and had a PS3 hooked up to the same screen with no noticeable difference watching the movie 300, or any other movie I played.

Also, to play a Blu-Ray movie you need to be able to transfer 54Mbps(Sony claims they expect to make 288Mbps drives in the long-term future, but for data/pc use, not movie viewing) of data from the drive to whatever chip is being used to process the data. USB 2.0 exceeds that number with room to spare.

I still wont be signing this petition because its a waste of time.

yea not gonna happen lol.. the only reason, i guess, for the cheap hd-dvd player prices right now is because the hd-dvd forum is subsidizing the costs of the players to get more people to buy them..

If there was actually a difference between the two formats, then MAYBE it would be worth fighting for.

Since the war looks over, BRD has more space, and the rest is pretty much the same, this is a fine time to end it, though. Hopefully after this, BRD prices will go down as well.

The big deciding factor for me was that Blockbuster decided to go BD.

BD players costs more, the movies cost the same, but then I have the ability to rent BD at a nationwide rental store so it's cheaper in the long run. It's like buying a 8800GTX. It was an expensive card but it's retained most of its resell value where the old GTS and the 2900's did not.

Yeah, well I'd like to be where it's cheaper. But I'd also like to be where the movies are.

I agree with the petition though. Consumers spent a hell of a lot of money just to get a a product that has been discontinued (so to speak.) But then again, everyone knew that it would come down to one or the other so it was at your own risk.

The part that made me laugh was when he said this:

Quote:
so we can hopefully change Warner's mind to return to being format neutral, or go HD-DVD exclusive.
Wow, yea. Talk about being selfish. He doesn't want his product to be useless, but he will be more than happy to watch people suffer who bought blu-ray.

What an idiot.

let's put it this way.. its a war right? this petition is the equivalent of asking a nation that has surrendered to get their asses back in the war to fight because people have invested in that nation
