Hands down, FF is faster and uses less system resources (except when it starts leaking after ~ 5 hours). For those who want the "familiarity" of IE, you can skin FF to look exactly like IE.....

I find that FF uses more system resources than IE7 and I notice no difference in load speed.

From what I understand, FF3 is just as bloated as IE.

Why do people love and praise Firefox? Well because it is not Microsoft. Just because it isn't Microsoft doesn't mean its good. Just because it is Open Source, doesn't mean it is good. Just because it is Google, doesn't mean it is good.

Then why aren't Safari or Opera just as popular as Firefox? Because FF is a better browser. (Well... than Safari. I'd say better marketing is why it's more popular than Opera, but that's a different issue). People wouldn't use it if it were crap. Yes, it's got a few bugs, but every piece of software has a few bugs. I personally like a lot of MS products, they're very useful and intuitive, but IE is most certainly not one of them.

Actually, Opera is the best browser.

And no, It's not open source. Have I gone mad? No. Opera renders best according to W3C specs, and has a lot of features. It's also free. Now, I personally use firefox, liking Open Source and some Extensions, but Opera and K-Meleon/Epiphany/Camino are all perfectly good browsers.

IE is bad as it cannot render web pages. All other browsers are fine.
