Making the users responsible via a EULA isn't necisarly something they can leagally do. However if this ruling does work, I'm sure any german torrent site will get shut down also.

I can't remember ever using Rapidshare, but hearing stuff like this bothers me. How are they to know its music (if it's rar'd) or even that its being illegally uploaded?

Sites are getting shut down like crazy, but its not going to do anything. When Napster went down, Kazaa came in. When Kazaa went down, Limewire stepped up. People on the internet are resourceful. They will find a way to get their stuff for free. All this is going to do is cause some young upstart to come up with something new and better, and the companies will be back at square one.

It's like 50cent said, they need to learn to adapt with the way things are going, and find a new business model. They are fighting a losing battle.
