I'm pretty sure this is utter rubbish. I mean why would AMD want to develop a browser? What would be the point in it? I can't see any. In fact, the only software i can see AMD developing is drivers.

Actually there is a link on the first page of the AMD Live! software package. Its mainly designed for media. This web browser is said to be part of that package.

The point of it would be a very user friendly way of viewing web media like videos and such.

This is part of their LIVE! Package, which they have been marketing for HTPC's and such.. Or did you not know? They are simply adding to their offerings with HTPC's..

What the hell? Most of the world uses IE and most of the smart people use Opera/Mozilla, so, the AMD browser either needs to be godly or nobody will use it. On top of this, in stead of wasting money here, use the money on development. Make some money, beat intel/nVidia, and then branch out to make earnings.

I am not genius, but, neither is this plan. It's so typical of AMD, they do most things backwards and incorrectly.

And its NOT just a web browser (Again, Overclock.net FTL because of crappy thread titles). This is similar to the feature in Windows XP Media Center where you can browse your pictures and crap. This is more or less a small software suite for HTPC's more than likely.

AMD Live has been a free download available for a while. I saw it demoed at an AMD retail event. It provides remote mediacenter functionality similar to a slingbox. The tech at the event was able to log on and watch TV being streamed from his home halfway across the country. He was also able to access his desktop remotely with it. I was pretty impressed with the software although I would never use it. If AMD can successfully provide a free program to compete with GOTOMYPC or similar things, it could help their sales. The conference I went to was last June, and they gave us a copy of the program to try out. I did not try it, but it has been out for a while. I kinda wish they would give this a rest though and focus on making faster CPUs.
