What makes me sick are people who do not understand the word "sharing". The game comes from somewhere, not nowhere. Also, I so called "steal" cause the industry is too stupid to actually give a half decent demo that will do justice to the final product. Finally, games are just too expensive for the damn "7 hours" gameplay. I demo the game, then wait for the price to drop (if I am still interested).

Heck, I downloaded Stalker: Shadows of Chernobyl, and now I am going to buy it, just cause the game is awesome.

Or what else makes me sick, are people who buy into the lies that are told to them by the industry. Enjoy being a puppet.

PC gaming is not a cheap hobby... if you can't afford it you probably should consider something like basket weaving or knitting.

Like I have said before if pc gaming dies then all the pc gamers + hackers will just be forced to play console games. Then the console piracy rate will skyrocket. Everyone acts like this is bringing the world to an end or something. Game developers are most likely just saying this CRAP with MADE UP NUMBERS because it is easier to make a game for a console = more money for them.

I say made up numbers because not everyone has lightening fast internet or leaves p2p programs running all day. Many people only use them for a few hours at night so other people in the house can use the internet during the day. If that was taken into consideration, the numbers would only be a third of what this article says.

I think movies/games/music are not worth the money that has become expected of them. If they want to sell more, considering the higher rate of piracy now-days, prices need to be dropped. Companies don't need millions of profit from one movie/cd/game. Movies are easier to pirate now than ever and what do they do? Raise the prices(hd dvd/blu ray). The big companies are just being welcomed(shoved) back into reality the hard way.

lame excuses ? bioshock screwed over users who bought the game. Lots of games just flat out don't work for some people.

Piracy isn't all bad, it makes the software popular and people will still buy it for updates, online features, etc.
Think about Adobe. If it wasn't for piracy, I bet its software like Photoshop and Premiere wouldn't be as popular as they are now. Same goes for Microsoft, if Vista wasn't pirated the market share would be a lot less.

The principle of honestly is not a lie told to me by an "industry". If the price doesn't justify the product, don't buy it.

I think that if Adobe Photoshop had never been pirated, the only thing we'd miss would be a bunch of crappy image macros.

IMO piracy of OS's and tools like Adobe Photoshop can be even worse than music and movie piracy... often people are using stolen software to earn money for themselves.

Hi guys. I am sorry to knock all of you off your pedestal, but PC gaming will never die because of piracy. And if it does? So what. Life is short gentlemen, PC gaming is the least of my worries and I love PC gaming. If there was never another game after tomorrow, I could really care less. There are plenty of games already created that can last me until I die.
