I've used mine like this for a few years. http://img291.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ffoe6.jpg Just drag the bookmarks to the top then you right click on FF toolbar and uncheck bookmarks. Then your links show up across the top, F11 is the best though.

You don't need a stupid pluggin, just go to the customize toolbars menu and drag all you buttons up the the menu bar including the address feild, then select small icon and hide the now empty bars. Everything on one line, no need for a plugin.

i read this article earlier today too, but i can honestly say i've never felt like i needed more viewing space. i use firefox with the standard menus (small), bookmarks and tab toolbars and it works fine for me.

why do people need that extra few square inches of space? (honest curiosity)
