I dont know what it was about vista, there was just this feeling in the air, at least for me. It was like no one needed a new windows...yet.

Vista is a good OS and amazing when compared to how XP was when it first started. It's only downfalls were lack of driver compatibility (it was new so DUH), annoying UAC (which we figured out how to turn off), bad press (when does the media ever report anything worthwhile anyways?), and not being great when compared with XP. Oh yea, and it needs a system that can be summarized back then as, pretty high end.

Dont forget networking. Those speeds were terrible. Still, the reason why i use a pc is to make me feel technical. I love vista in that way, it comes up with some new error and i go fix it and feel great about myself in the process.

Obviously because Vista is doing great at the moment. Most of the newer pre-made PCs require you to pay MORE to get XP over Vista, at least from what Ive seen.

Not to mention, most of the big problems with Vista have been fixed aside from the occasional bad drivers.
