Yeah, It's a shame the developers are being such fools over this.
Unfortunately some people think they know what is best all the time, no matter what the user thinks (*cough*GNU*cough*).

Same. They should make it multiplatform. I wish they would get cracking on the audio/video chat as well. But for plain IMing, Adium is, by far, the best I've used.

It is in the fork, but the original pidgin didn't give plugins access to that, it seems.
