Yeah, It's a shame the developers are being such fools over this.

Unfortunately some people think they know what is best all the time, no matter what the user thinks (*cough*GNU*cough*).

Same. They should make it multiplatform. I wish they would get cracking on the audio/video chat as well. But for plain IMing, Adium is, by far, the best I've used.

It is in the fork, but the original pidgin didn't give plugins access to that, it seems.

Honestly can't see any advantage of that over Pidgin. Maybe it's just me?

Oh, Webcam support. I guess that'd be useful, I might check it out.

BTW the "Pidgin" pigeon is a complete rip off of Adium's duck character thats been around forever. Adium for the win, i wish it was multi-platform.
You do realize that Adium is based off Pidgin, right? Even if Pidgin did 'rip off' Adium's logo, then if anything it's a good thing. It's adds a sort of uniform to the libpurple-based IM clients.

Hmm, I had no idea. But that's cool; I liked Pidgin a lot, and I like Adium best

Does Pidgin have a "dock to screen edge" capability yet?
