Well, my download says ~50 min left, but I'm damn sure that this will mean ~3 hours with the errors. And I don't know if it's (wow, just got an error pop up right here, right now) going to work.
See if it isn't any faster downloading from Virginia Tech's FTP!

The Fedora desktop live x86_64 torrent was quick for me. I booted it in Qemu and it worked fine although, It got to the desktop and then told me there was a kernel failure? What has failed exactly I don't know and there was nothing in dmesg so? I guess its just complaining about something Qemu related.

After having a quick look it seems to be just as expected, Pretty with all of the programs you would expect to be there. I cant tell if it is faster than I remember because I'm running it in Qemu (without KQemu )

WHAT THE HELL?

99.9% done, now we're at 0KB/s downloading, and download went from 1s left, to 10s left, now 33s left.

Why is the Fedora download process such a catastrophic failure?

I've had a couple of woes, but ultimately, I was able to get all three images I was after. Keep pluggin' at it, man. Check out that FTP I mentioned, it gave me a steady 1.2MB/s download speed all the way through.

Finally got it through Transmission... It wasn't taking advantage of all my available bandwidth, but whatever, I got it downloaded in about 9 hours.

Anyway... My experience has sucked thus far. I will give it some leniency, though, since I am using it in VirtualBox after all.

Upon installation and reboot, I received 3 kernel panics in a row. I kept resetting, and finally I got into the OS. For some reason, the resolution was something like 1920x1200, so I had to scroll across the screen... This is the fault of VB, though. Then I went to install the Guest Additions for VB/Linux integration, and that failed, so I deleted Fedora 9 lol

It looked very good and polished off from what I saw, though. I'm 100% sure that my problems were caused by VB. I don't know what the deal with the download was, though.

I'll have to give this another try on a native install. I'm actually really looking forward to it; it looked great. Fedora Core 6 is where Fedora started to get really good, and 7 got much better. Then 8 came along and looked damn professional (except for my constant "package manager in use" problem...), and now we have 9 which looks like a complete OS. I'm expecting this to be good... I will report back with results!

In my experience with Fedora 9, the only complaint I have is that, when installing packages from a Yum repository, it was insanely slow (I'm talking like 9Kb/s slow). Hopefully that will improve in time.
