So Best Buy is hiring an employee named "Sue?"

If they are doing this, they should get sued. But I don't know how someone named "Sue" will help them unless she's also a lawyer.

I read an article on how this news team went undercover giving laptops to different Geek squads. The only thing that was wrong with it was the memory wasn't seated properly and the laptop would not boot. 90% of Geek Squads verdict was that the motherboard was fried or some extreme excuse. Then the report went on saying how they didn't diagnose the problem correctly and blah blah blah. When it comes down to it, what will make Best Buy more money? Reseating a stick of memory, or the labor to replace a mobo?
As for the privacy of peoples files, that is another story. I don't think it's the right thing to do, but there are people out there that will take advantage of it.

umm, wow. Thats fraud. Take a look at the automobile repair industry. Stuff like this happens all the time. It is the same with PC's. Something 90% of the population use and only 10% understand. Part of what you are paying for is the trust that you are not going to get ripped off. Just because one solution makes more money than the other for the store has no bearing on fixing the actual problem. If they want to make more money, have knowlegable sale people upsell them things.

I am a geeksquad agent and everyone I work with is extremely knowledgeable and professional with how we handle customers data. Let alone the time it takes to talk to customers all day long, we do not have the free time to play petty snooping games with peoples data. Go in, fix whats wrong and call the customer, it's fairly straight forward. I work there because it is a good paying job for what we have here and I get to do something I am good at and it takes no skill really. Also is quite fun IMO with the people I work with. Any other questions feel free to ask, just don't bag on something if you don't know how it works. Also if you don't think I know what I am doing or what I am diagnosing, come try me? :x

even if they don't steal stuff, most of geeksquad agents have no experience long enough to solve real problems, (friend who work in one was telling me stories in daily bases lol) but that can be just here in canada, they scam ur money anyway they could til ppl are more educated about whatever it is and they stop and jump in money scam on something else

Don't get me wrong, the people committing this are out of line and deserve punishment, but you don't burn the company for it.

People act like "How to steal peoples dataz: 101" is a chapter in the Best Buy employee manual
