What a load of BS tbh. Not going to get into what I think, go to far offtopic. Will say.
I think were getting used to having our rights taken away, and security tightened.. To support the cause of fighting terrorism... BS.

LOL Im glad there are so many more like you, really I am itll make me feel better about not putting up a fight.
Slowly and surely we all loose our freedoms day by day. Most here arent old enough to remember what it was like 20yrs ago but it was alot different. Atleast in the US. Things that before they couldnt do because it wasnt lawful have since been passed into law which now allow them to do the things we were once protected against. Little things that add up over time that you dont even know are happening. Things like trippiling fines for mediocre offences to make the state more money. Installing red light cams to bring in revenew. LOL in some county's you cant start your car and walk more then 20ft away without being fined. Its like a $250 fine too. No more warming up your car in your drive way. Oh and yes they can give them to you in your own driveway. Anyways the more you become informed the worse you realize it is in some aspects.

You had a very good point in your other post that they cannot mine through it all. Many people assume it is for snooping on everyone, in truth it is just viewing a few select individuals. The V-chip is for selecting ratings (kind of like folder permissions) that your kids cannot watch. GPS units in Cell phones are for enhanced 911, and do not work via GPS, they most certainly cannot activate a Mic. To access a webcam you would first have to hack into the computer, which would have various degree's of success depending on the persons security (hardware / software firewalls). Also, to a degree I am worried about Canada and the UK. Their gun laws are very scary. In Canada some politicians tried to make purchasing and selling Kabar knives illegal (much to the objection of campers, fisherman, etc..). I am much more worried about the loss of gun rights (I won't go into politics, I will just say that any shooters should research the presidential candidates and see where they stand, you might be a bit worried.

Historically, it has always been easy to scare people out of their rights, so this is nothing new. To quote Shakespeare, "Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar." Case in point: its not so much that the leaders are stealing our rights, but more that we are giving them away. Or perhaps, take James Madison, "If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." - "It is a universal truth that the loss of liberty at home is to be charged to the provisions against danger, real or pretended, from abroad." - "No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare."

I agree. We may have the same activities in the US, but the UK is like the public beta test for new measures. We just use them to test the public reaction.

Put it this way - if we are "BETA" testers, why doesn't the US have free health care by now? US and UK are completely different societies, and the US does not control what happens in the UK. I don't know where you got the idea that somehow the US controls the UK from. Anyway, discussing politics on OCn is against the TOS.
