To say its garbage is jumping the gun a bit I think. Ive used it plenty. Mobile OSes biggest problems for me are that most of their features are utterly useless. But that doesnt mean its not a solid mobile OS. It will do everything it says it will do.
I will admit. There are a couple of things that I would use more on an iphone than I would on a windows mobile device. I think its because navagation on an iphone is just much easier... (no stupid stylus which I hate with a passion.) Iphone not having active sync is more or less a deal breaker for me though. They are supposed to be coming out with active sync for iphones though.

Tell that to the millions of business people who use Windows Mobile Smartphones. BTW have you used it? I use it every day and I love it.
And the skin looks better than the original.

I think Windows Mobile is great because of all the freeware and apps that you can run on it. iPhone on the otherhand is pretty lame when it comes to apps.

Programmer

Speaking from a hobbyist programmer's perspective and having owned a PocketPC (before it was called Windows Mobile) device, I can say it's a very good platform. Being able to program using pretty much the same API used in desktop Windows made it really easy for me to write my own personal software for it. In my first year of college, I was "that guy" with a C/C++ compiler in his PDA.
Come to think of it, the iPhone owners probably get more chicks... Quote:
When looking for smartphones and PDAs, I really look out for what it has to offer me as a hobbyist development platform. I hope an inexpensive Linux-based PDA would come up ![]()
