I agree. Prices have gone way down on CD's as the market is failing. I just dislike having to buy 12 songs when i like 1.

I wish there were a place that sold custom CD's you design, in full quality.

This is true. I don't see how it's fair to assign blame to someone's PC that belongs to a certain IP address......I wonder if there is a way to get the MAC address......this would be a little more precise, but it still doesn't prove that the individual actually accessed this info. I suppose someone could clone a MAC address and tie it off to another IP, then get sensitive info from a site......that would be a lot of trouble though.
Its actually quite easy to spoof your MAC address. Many people use software to do just this to bypass Punkbuster bans in most games. To be honest i think that when they seize the PC if it doesnt have the files in question on it that they shouldnt be able to charge you. I mean come on possesion is 9/10ths of the law....

Has anyone ever been prosecuted in the uk for downloading/uploading copyrighted files in the uk?
I doubt you would have much more than a small fine if you did get caught.

Ahh, Canada is great. So far I haven't been able to find a single person who has been arrested or at the very least slapped on the wrist for downloading other than ISP's sending a letter to their home threatening to discontinue their service.

This may be an older link but it's still in effect.

Well, with the way prison overcrowding is at the moment, you're not going to jail. For serious offences such as mass uploading or releasing CD's before they go on sale you will probably get a criminal conviction and a large fine.

I feel a nice little judicial review coming on

Won't be jail time just a slap on the wrist. But first lets hear under what law they are being arrested

IDK how people can tell the difference between FLAC and normal 192kbps audio. I can barely tell the difference between 96kbps audio and 192kbps with my ATH-A900's with a good amp. I seriously think that it's all placebo to be honest but thats going off topic.

So they are going after those doing the pre-releases.
