I like FF3 and it is quite an improvment over FF2. However, I still find IE7 to be faster than FF3 at opening webpages.
I type the same URL into both FF3 and IE7. I put FF3 on the left screen and IE7 on the right. I hit enter on FF3 and click on IE7 and hit enter. Even with hitting enter second, IE7 loads every page, including Gmail, faster than FF3.
