I have played Daoc (5years) SWG (5months) WoW (1year) and now AOC. All games during release. AOC is suffering from being a new release just like the other 3 games I mentioned. There will be numerous bugs with quests, drops, etc. All games go through that. It takes time to get a finalized polished product out, Daoc and WoW have had years to work the kinks out and now have minimal stuff which would upset players. Give AOC and with their aggressive 2 patches a week they should have the game to a level almost any gamer would enjoy playing in a couple months.

As for endgame content. The pve content isn't going to compare to WoW. WoW is a pve game and all of its expansions are put in to add to the end game raiding. The PVP content for AOC you cant really say if it sucks or not. The classes are still being semi tweaked and a majority of the population isnt lvl 80, or have their final tier village/cities put up. People are still working on getting all that stuff taken care of. Once a majority of the players are in the end game pvp (which will probably be another month or so) then a fair assesment of the pvp content can be made.

I'm not really a fan of rpg's nor mmorpg's for that matter. But, the game appealed to me and I bought it yesterday. My wife had to peal me off the computer literally kicking and screaming. The updater broke and I quickly found the fix online. It did lock-up once during character creation, hard-booted. After I got into the world I didnt have any issues. I don't know what it is about this game thats got me drawn in, I've NEVER been a fan of RPG's and I could care less about Conan although I did see the movies long ago. When I heard about WOW long ago, I looked into it, and it looked "to me" like a rainbow colored fairy tale land with crap graphics.

I cant exactly put my finger on it (gimme a break, it's only been one day) but the things I like "so far" are the visuals, and the combat. The things that annoy me so far are all the seemingly useless items that fill up my inventory. I'm constantly deleting crap. Oh, and "hiding" LOL since when can someone "hide" at another persons feet out in the open and not be seen. It must be some "magical ability" or something. Maybe thats what I don't like about these games ..... all the crap magic stuff *sigh* "let me put on my robe and wizard hat"

I find that very hard to belive and by going off prior comments and the fact that the author refused to show a source i cant belive anyone would argue about this! ive been playing AOC for about a week now and i used to be an avid Wow player. AoC has a great combat system with the most fufiling PVP i have ever participated in. There is an abundance of item/exp quests aswell as a Ton of Plot Driven Quests, which is great if you like that sort of thing.

AoC is pretty good as far as i'm concerend, people just dont want their wow servers to become less populated

Well if AoC is desperate for subscribers how come every server is packed to the gills? Hell on my server alone we generally have 10+ instances of every zone going.

I think these WoW fanboys have somthing to learn.

Forget Crytek, Blizzard makes the most future-proof games on the planet. I don't know of another company that is able retain so many gamers for such a long time. Starcraft, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3 and now WoW. The only games that cannibalize Blizzard games are the sequels.
