Well the internet allows you to spell worse and forces your grammar to degrade but overall I believe if something interests a person, the internet is there for them to learn about it. I don't become dumber because of the internet, I just lose my ability to speak english :P

I would also say that the internet forums creates more passive-aggressive people than ever before! ... if you compare how people used to post in forums long ago (say earlier 2000s) compared to now, people have become much more aggresive... mostly because you're more likely to say "you're an idiot, go eff yourself" by typing it, than in person... which is pretty sad...

Haveing spent my childhood years prior to the internet explosion I've noticed that most children today are far more ignorant when compared to those who grew up without internet access. All the knowledge and useful information on the internet and most kids choose to argue about who has a better fill in the blank, social networking sites, or play online games against people they don't even know.

I think "stupid" is the wrong word. He makes a very good point about our attention spans shortening, which I completely agree with. Even sitting in movies sometimes I have trouble concentrating on a 2.5 hour movie.

And all of these people I see texting each other at least once every 10 seconds I can see getting slowly, but steadily dependent on their instant communication. The internet is a very similar way of getting our information instantly, and many of us take it for granted.

Try going a day without using some form of "instant gratification" like the internet, txting, or even a microwave. Many people say it's pointless to live in the past, but how will we know where we're going unless we know how we came?
