I don't intend on paying $600 for Photoshop when I can get a just-as-good alternative in the GIMP. If software was at a decent price I wouldn't mind; but as of now I'm sticking with open-sourced software.

I only use torrents for fansubs, but I suppose that is illegal too. (Jesus, I'd buy it if they'd sub it, I'm not waiting three years to watch the dubbed version with crappy voice acting.)

LOL WRONG. Most people who pirate wouldn't buy the software or game anyway. They only do it because it's free so why not give it a shot. Not to mention, since when has increased revenue made a company lower its prices?

Enter the age of VPN and SSL Honestly, how can the figure out WHAT I am downloading if all data to and from my connection is encrypted?

PCs have become powerful enough to handle half-decent encryption at dazzling data rates.

And if they break my encryption I can always sue for violation of privacy.

IDK, but it's pretty damn hard to do that without internet.
