For one, complaining is fine if you complain to the right people, obviously complaining here there is no point, call up Apple and complain to them if it bothers you. Second, to answer your question for why a browser shouldn't be a toy, the answer is right in the question. It no longer becomes a browser, instead of using it to browse you spend your time playing and customizing a program thats used to browse. That's the funny part, you are using it for everything but it's purpose. Thus the name (Browser). And the only thing in my opinion that safari lacks to satisfy everyones' NEEDS (not WANTS) is a possible to change the color of the interface. Some people can't stand looking at gray it irritates them and that I understand. In all other perspectives, need-wise it's an absolutely flawless browser and I speak from experience. I use it for everything and there has not been a single thing it couldn't handle and with speed. Thank you Apple for making me and a lot of other people very happy. Now if the rest of you people want something more than a browser please feel free to play with Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer.

Yes I said flawless deal with it. And don't try to act like you have no idea what I'm talking about, it's so predictable and frankly a little hacky. And to be more specific Im pointing out flawless from my experience and I use it everyday for a very long time now and haven't had a single issue with it. I am aware of it's "supposed" flaws, but like I said before I've used it for everything I can imagine and have never come across something that even remotely appears as an issue.

You're the first person I've ever met who has said that the Windows version of Safari is actually... good.

I tried it when it was first released, Beta 3 was it?

I still have the scars. Seriously I had so many issues with I could rant for hours.

Quite frankly, I hated it. I couldn't never understand why anyone else would use it, other than on their Macs.

Anyway, you it as you will. But FF3 is a FAR superior browser and I encourage you to use it instead.

Virtually every browser in existence has that...

Although he doesn't use it as his main browser, my cousin says Safari is good. He uses it on vista.

It's a great idea to judge the final product by the test versions called BETAS, isn't it?

Ask your sister if whenever she loads Itunes on Vista the app goes black and freezes for a sec, only to be fixed by quickly minimizing and maximizing.

That happens on nearly every Vista PC and is a pain in the ass to deal with, believe me. It happens because the Itunes G.U.I. doesn't match up with Vista's. It's a bug that Apple knows about perfectly well, is easy to fix from their end, and affects nearly all of their Vista users. But Apple, quite frankly, doesn't care. They suck at making software for PCs (or is it just that they want Windows users to switch to Macs...?) and they honestly don't care about their Windows software. Why should they care about their browser...? Oh wait they don't. They take weeks to release patches covering zero-day exploits. Apple isn't experienced in making software for a platform that has loads of viruses and hackers.

And btw Safari Beta 3 was the last Beta before final release. And it was the 3rd Beta, the only one made available to the public. I've tried their current release (not this one, but he last one) and it's basically just the same, with many bugs still not fixed.

Hope that explains some of my reasoning.

OK you know what, i find it ridiculously hilarious that people are hating on safari in a safari pro thread, it's like, why the hell did you even go on here? As far as safari is concerned if you have issues with it that means you ****ed up. I installed it and didn't mess with it and it works fine for me. It's funny that people that complain about issues with software when others have proved to run it fine without problems. In that case it's obviously not the software that's giving you the issues. Same thing goes with people that complain about Vista but Im not gonna get into that. Anyways, as far as Firefox is concerned, I don't like it even with all it's other capabilities. It's remind me too much of IE. It's more like an IE alternative. And like I said before, it's got too much in it, much more than anyone NEEDs for web browsing. If you want more, that's a whole different story. Anyways, to finish off, we can all keep ranting all night and it's not gonna go anywhere and frankly i've got better things to do with my time and this pointless argument is not worth it. I've said all I need to say and you take it how you want. If you got anything more to complain about then you can take those words and shove them. Im done posting but feel free to continue without me, just remember what I said. And yes I know that was alot, shove it.

Hmm, actually I think I remember that happening a couple times before.

I've gone through this entire thread and read each of your posts. All of them say, "Ugh, Safari, bugs, problems, ughhhhh." But none of them mentions a single problem.

So no, it doesn't explain any of your reasoning.

To be honest, I'm going to read your next post expecting the described problems to be made up. I don't know why else you wouldn't have given us an example of a problem right off the bat.
