I've always noticed that reader x --> y always does the same exact thing. What the hell is the difference?

Agreed, photoshop is probably the best image manipulation program there is, but it can be made SO much better. I swear to hell, if someone were able to make a program that was able to do everything PS did and be leaner at the same time, adobe's PS would die out completely.

Not the point, Choggs! When OSX's Preview program does everything Adobe Reader does and more, and so does Foxit Reader, and they only take 18.3MB and (not sure, but it's really low)MB respectively, there's a problem with Adobe Reader.

I'm not going to excuse crappy coding just because I can spare the space/speed/whatever.

Yeah, you have a point. But I still think he's whining just a bit too much about something that's free (and not even necessary with the existence of the programs you speak of).

And the thing is, he doesn't even seem to realize exactly what the space is required for, anyway. He's just making guesses:

American's really don't spot sarcasm easy do they lol. I find that out everyday it seems I couldn't imagine many American's could stand it long in the UK cos that's how we communicate most of the time

As for Adobe Reader 9... Mine just cashes at 99% unpacking.

Acrobat 5 was the last version I could tolerate.

A 33MB download and 210MB install is absurd for a PDF reader.

Hell it doesnt even run smoothly on my pc. Any document creater than about 3 pages it will never scroll smoothly through pages, always lag after lag not to mention how long it can take to open. Foxit works perfectly, smoothy browsing and instant start up time.
