I'm currently pulling about 200-299fps in CS:sourse and associated games. At 1680x1050. Wow, WC3, and supreme commander all run great. However when an ACU goes nuke it chugs. I think that would happen on most comps. :-p
I have no problems what-so-ever. I did however install the full suite. Sounds like most only installed the driver and are using an old CCC. Could be the problem.
@GTPUser: I have my 4870 running on water and both mem and gpu sliders all the way to the right. 790/1100 I think @ 35C load. Ill try and get a link to my 3DMark06 tonight after work. You do have ALL cpu settings turned off in the BIOS with the exception of the last one. Multithreading or something. Allows more than one core to run. I found that some of those setting hurt temps and performance the most. My ram runs at 890MHz and 5-5-5-15 timings. GTL settings also help with high FSB stability. I never could get the FSB over 480 even with my multi at 6 and having previously tested the ram at higher speeds. I just couldn't get the NB to go higher.
