Actually the two spellings are interchangeable everywhere except with the term "Fibre Channel". Why? I have no idea. But even the American industry spells it like that.

I can't really understand your justification.

Its like your allowed to rob a bank without going to prison.
How are they going to "win there way out of court"? A civic suit would be far more effective than anything the FCC can do. I wasn't aware the FCC had control over patents?

Comcast against the average consumer, who would win?
FCC basically has a check through of what patents go through and what not, its on "FCC Fridays" at engadget.
Without them anyone can abuse the system, I respect your views on why the FCC shouldn't be in existence.

I agree (for once) with Pauldovi here - These companies are not getting the true punishment they deserve for stuff like this.

It doesn't matter how large Comcast is. The biggest strength Comcast has is in Federal buracracies where it can lobby and take advantage of inherent government corruption. Remove those buracracies and remove their (Comcast's) strength.

Now think about this again:

FCC "investigates" Comcast and decides in house what it should do.

A group of people sues Comcast in a civil court and a jury of "average consumers" rule.

FCC protects Comcast, not you. Or as Milton Friedman put it, "Many people want the government to protect the consumer. A much more urgent problem is to protect the consumer from the government."

Good. As much as I don't care if such filters are in place since the vast majority of traffic using such software is illegal, Comcast lied and should therefore be punished.

Unlikely. Comcast's performance varries depending upon what service you bought, your location, and the time of day. Residents of Virginia seem to be blessed with the fastest internet in the US.
