i've never heard of XP codec pack.... i've used Vista codec pack before, but i really like using CC Codec Pack above all else. that with VLC and Winamp and you can play everything.

there's quite a few listed on the webpage i go to first after reinstalling windows.

Awesome, I've been looking for some good codec packs compatible with Winamp. I'm not a big fan of Media Player Classic. +Rep
