I read the article but all it talks about is Vistas built in security, does anyone know if this bypasses anti-virus and anti-malware software or is it just naked unprotected vista that can get hacked with this? I would assume that a good anti-virus would flip out with this technique.

I don't believe they will be able to bypass DEP on 64 bit Vista because it is exclusively hardware driven (and required) where 32 Vista's DEP is software driven and optional.

^Agrees

DEP runs in two modes: hardware-enforced DEP for CPUs that can mark memory pages as nonexecutable, and software-enforced DEP with a limited prevention for CPUs that do not have hardware support.
Modern Intel and AMD CPU's have a feature called XD bit and NX bit, respectively, that is like a hardware DEP

Vista 64 bit does not have software driven DEP. Instead it requires that hardware driven DEP be used.
