I like apples as much as the next man but truth be told I find them a little expensive compared to similer sized fruit, now a banana, theres a price/performance fruit.

I guess a large majority of MP3 player owners must be rich then, eh?

i am not rich and i do not have money to just throw around, i am a college student who is paying his way through college himself.
when i chose to buy my macbook it was very thought out and came out to be the best purchase at the time because vista still was buggy and the cost to get a laptop that would run it decently was about the same as the bottom of the line macbook that i have that ran 10.4 amazingly and runs 10.5 just as well.
i have added more ram (so virtual machines run smooth along side os x when i was taking a math class that the software only ran on a windows based OS) and a larger hdd because my music and video collection has grown.
i did not buy it to game or overclock or to modify, i bought it to do school work on. it has been perfect for every task i have needed, easy to carry around (13.3" screen, ~ 1" thick), great battery life (brightest screen setting, running a powerpoint and a word processor, and wifi off as my school doesnt have open wifi yet is around 5 hours and wifi on it runs about 3 hours with those same settings), and i have had zero compatibility issues with any hardware i have plugged up to it.
