I take offense to this comment. I am a Military Policeman, I have been for almost 8 years now. And I just got certified to carry a Tazer a week ago. You need to read up on those things more. Tazers don't kill. Only the fall can cause damage. Trust me, I know. I was tazed as part of my certification. These things save lives. The 50,000 Volts that are delivered are only delivered in something like .0038 Amps (that number could possibly be wrong, I don't feel like getting the exact number right now). That and the only affected area is the skin and muscles just below it. It has absolutely no effect on pacemakers or the central capillary system, and the shock does not penetrate more than a 2 inch arc. Hearts are safe. Don't go spouting off about cops like that without having your facts straight first.

Sorry for the tangent, it just came over me.

well they have a new thing for medicine where surgeons can put a packet of medicine in you and activate it via remote to release. Its suppose to help surgeons target specific points to use medicine to help whatever it is that needs help. And I was watching the news report on it and I was like "I have a remote that will activate the acid in your body and will burn your body from the inside out. mwhahahahahaha"

...where did you get the statistics on Taser deaths? I assume from the Taser company?

http://www.amnestyusa.org/document.p...USA20060328001
Quote:
Most of those who died had pre-existing medical conditions, were under the influence of drugs or medication, and/or were subjected to multiple or prolonged electro-shocks. Among TASER-related deaths in the past year, for example, 40 were shocked more than three times and one person as many as 19 times. A majority of those who died went into cardiac or respiratory arrest at the scene.

It really does not take much current or voltage to kill you. A household 9v battery CAN kill you.

You guys that are getting mad at CrackClocker for saying Awesommmeee!!! need to calm down and read what ?she? wrote. Right at the end of ?her? post ?she? says the pacemaker part is NOT cool, but the MIT part IS.

I hate it when people start flaming someone because they (the flamer) cant learn how to read.

EDIT: This is assuming of course that the edit to ?her? post was not to add in that additional info.

Good article. However, I see their bias. Yes, my statistics come from Taser. And Taser has only lost one accusation in court. And in that particular one, Taser was held responsible for something like 19% of the contribution. The other factors were Cocaine, Crystal Meth, Falling, etc. He wasn't doing himself any favors. And the examples of cops provided by that article were not very favorable ones. I'm not denying there are some that bad. They just were not following the strict training provided by Taser. If you follow the rules set in place, those kinds of things don't happen. I would blame irresponsible people, not so much the weapon.

And yes, it could potentially cause someone to have a heart attack. But not from the current, from the shock and stress the body endures when it happens.

bottom line is they shouldn't be used night club to the head does fine normally. ive only been tased once running from a cop and he later told me the only reason he tased me is because he knew he couldn't catch me. Personally i feel that cops should use mace or the night club instead of a ranged weapon... its not like there going to tase someone shooting a gun cops just need to get in shape and haul ass after who ever not tase and risk killing someone.. instant death penalty for resisting arrest without force? the penalty should be the same for all.

[edit][and no i wasn't tased for just running there was more involed]
