I'm confused. Several times the article says that DX11 will remain compatible with DX10 and DX10.1 class hardware. Does this mean they can support the extra features (or some of them) of DX11, or it will just work in legacy mode, like how you can install DX9 on a DX8 card?

Means DX11 software will run on DX10 hardware but the DX11 features will be disabled.

In other words, everyone get ready to buy another graphics card. I'm buying these thing like candy. Well another 400.00 bucks to enable DirecrtX 11 features, boooo. Its like we have to buy a new card every month to keep up. Someone is getting very rich off of me.

To answer most of your questions: (1) a fridge cannot cool a PC (2) 64-bit OS for over 3.4GB (3) If a PCIe card fits, it should work (4) Resolution, not screen size (5) If you have a question, it is not news (6) Report, not respond to Spam (7) Single-Rail/Non-Modular PSUs are not always better than Multi-Rail/Modular

Software needs to work on older hardware. But that does not make money now, does it

Software DOES work on older hardware. However, features in DX11 that can't be support, aren't.

64-bit OS on a 32-bit CPU: Should we blame the CPU for not supporting 64-bit or blame the software for being too advanced?
