Seems like it may be a little fishy, like the safari install, but it is also quite possibly just an error. Sometimes Apple is pretty crafty...

It is a proven fact that a monopoly does not benefit anyone but the monopolist itself.

On topic. I had no real problems with the OS and the original iTunes 8 release. But my Outlook had some issues. So I updates to the new release. We will see if it helps.
I'm well aware of what a monopoly is. OSX is just rubbish and I don't want increased development times. Plus, Vista is just fine.

Sorry, no insult intended...

As for OSX being rubbish, I think the market will show if it is or not.

If you only have one developer leading the market (M$), and there is no competition, where are the insentives to produce a better product? Sure M$ wants to keep its customers happy. But with competition comes better products, lower prices and improvements aimed more at what consumers want. The capitalist market does not operate well with monoplys.

Comments claiming one company is just rubbish, and another single company is fine, therefore there is no need for another, isnt exactly a good market concept to follow. What cars would we be driving if a single company didnt have any competition (rhetorical question)? Cometitive companies like Vauxhall, Puergeot and Honda each force one another to come up with better products tailored to what the consumer wants.

No problems here for me. Not a single problem when connecting a 3g iPhone, any of 3 iPod nano's or a iPod classic. guess i'm just lucky. No poor performance either (well its not any different from normal, iTunes has never been good with all my music).

I actually like iTunes better than foobar, WMP, etc.

They all sound the same to me and I like the fact my G5's side buttons work in iTunes.
