This has been one of the downsides of linux for a while, and its nice to see broadcom finally giving the support. If you use Ubuntu this is available through a simple software update. Fedora 9 and 10 follow This Procedure.

Which is good to confirm because I was about to install Ubuntu on my HP dv6000 today, which has Broadcom wireless. Anyways, good to know Broadcom didn't completely ignore Linux forever.

Atheros works what?
That's the only thing stopping me from buying the Samsung NC10, no Linux drivers for the Atheros chipset. They actually work?

Bumping this, I'm actually having quite a lot of trouble getting my Broadcom wireless device working in Ubuntu. It doesn't even appear to recognize the device. I installed ndiswrapper and then installed the drivers that way but it says 'no device detected' or something along those lines.
I just installed about 2 days ago... oh well. Maybe I'll check for updates just to be sure, and make sure I have this update. Although I already did update once when I installed this, which was after I read this article.

More hardware being supported in Linux is always a good thing. It is problably one of the only reasons people are still afraid of Linux.
