Default [my digitallife] Download Windows 7 Calculator

Source

Download

I know that it's not a big deal but thought some would like to have a look at and check it out.

Quote:
Microsoft makes a major revamp on the Calculator (executable named calc.exe) program that comes with Windows 7. The Microsoft Windows Calculator can perform all of the functions of most four-function (standard) or scientific calculators, and that’s all about it in term of features. Beside, it has only a simplified user interface, and the user interface and the core feature set has largely remained unchanged in form and function since Windows 95.

Windows 7 is about to change the familiar look of Microsoft Calculator program though. Windows 7 Calculator has added new mode of calculation, i.e. Programmer and Statistics, and beyond that, more importantly, improves on the user interface of the calculator to make it inline with much improved display appearance of modern computer system.

Good news is that the new Calculator works on Windows Vista too, if it’s been ported or migrated to Windows Vista. Windows Vista users who want to use the more advanced Calculator program from Windows 7 can download the following RAR archive which consists of calc.exe with its mui language file extracted from Windows 7 pre-beta build 6801.

Download Windows-7-Calculator.rar.

I like the fact that they are upgrading all the little programs with Windows 7, instead of the same old ones since Win98. Hopefully they upgrade Paint.

yea i was going to pay $300-$400 AUD for Windows 7
just so i can use the new revised cal, and paint etc
oh and the new theme

we want performance and security Microsoft, not more krap software / UI Changes that confuse end users
although i do like the new theme, but thats no reason to get a new operating system just for the theme

i am avoiding Vista since it does not preform as well as Windows XP with Applications / Games etc
even though its a stable operating system - i just hope Microsoft fixes that with Windows 7

The windows 7 build 6801 64bit is as responsive as my 64bit vista.. The final build will murder if the windows 7 betas -> final follow the vista betas -> final.

This. Makes. No. Sense.

If I try to run it from the Documents folder, it crashes before it starts.

If I try to run it from system32, it crashes before it starts.

If I open it from WinRar. It works.

If I open it from the temp folder where WinRar extracts it to when opening directly from Winrar. It works.

What the heck.....?
