Although the author clearly prefers the Windows 7 bar, they pretty much say they're glad Microsoft decided to go the way of OS X, and, as with anyone who sees an idea after it's presented, they made some improvements. That having been said, while there's things the superbar has that the dock doesn't, it goes the other way too, and I don't think you can say at this point that one is wholly better than the other. Although, for the first time in a while, I think you can say they're about equal.

I would never have expected to see a Windows-having-anything-better-than-MacOS article from Gizmodo (or Applemodo, as they've been called many a time before).

It seems to function very well from what the article tells apart from what I predict to be a really annoying thing with multiple folders open.
Right now though, the way it looks bothers me for some reason. Aesthetically it does nothing for me, almost turns me off of it. The need for a task "bar" is almost useless, since everything seems to be able to be done by "peeking" on the icon or right/left clicking on it. Microsoft's UI development team could've easily went with a more modern approach to the design isntead of what looks to be some sort of pixel box prison for each icon.

And anyway, Windows has that already. Nothing revolutionary in any case.

I have ised OS X and W7 and I have to say that the dock and teh taskbar are both awesome, but in my personal repference, I like W7 askbar more, it just works, and works well =) And I bet it will still be improved till the final launch date.
Also, anyone noticed that the wallpapers on both computers are from nine Inch nails? lol
