This article makes no sense. After reading it, he lists only one piece of functionality that he likes better than OSX's dock (jump lists), but several areas where OSX's dock is still a little ahead. How the heck does the math add up that the new taskbar is better than the dock?

Answer: it's not. The Windows 7 taskbar is leaps and bounds ahead of every Windows task bar to date, but it is not going to be better than the dock. It is going to be very close to the dock in most scenarios, and each will do some things better than the other in a few cases.

To the handful of Mac bashers: you're unenlightened. The OSX dock rocks. Microsoft was smart to mimic/steal that behavior.

Officially early 2010, although a lot of people are speculating we'll see a late 2009 release.

I didn't like how programs run in the new taskbar...
and Live Messenger can't be minimized to icon in the right corner any more -100 points for that.
And shortcuts are to be shortcuts not the actually window...
If I have a shortcut for Firefox I want it to stay that way...
Icons and tabs aren't supposed to mix, and if I have a Firefox icon and opens it, then I can't use the same shortcut when opening a new Firefox...
Icons are to big and takes to much space and the frame around them takes to much space horizontally and the new right-click menu is way off and there should a choice if you want the new menu or stick to the on in Vista and why do they keep cling on to the stupid themes like the invented color theme and other themes that look like the 95 theme, and where is the goddamn XP theme?
I don't feel like using a Windows 95 theme if I'm not satisfied with the newest theme.
The word "customize" is something they lack.
