I'm actually hoping a release as late as possible. Not to get millage from Vista since i qualify for the free stepup, but so it is as perfected as possible.

It is and that's why I hate most OS arguments. IMO it is generally opinion. Although I will admit to throwing gas and running occasionally.

Wow reading that makes me never want to use it unless there is a 'work like normal' button.

And combination of live thumbnails and Aero Peek ??? Vista has that anyway

He mentioned the sneak-peak feature thing that the Dock lacks. I think that's quickly remedied by Exposé. You swing your mouse to the corner of the screen (or hit F9), and boom, there's a preview of each window. You just click the one you want. It may be external from the Dock, but that's what I mean by the whole system integration thing.

Good point. But so far as we know, Snow Leopard hasn't promised any advancements in terms of the Dock. The only upgrade from Tiger to Leopard was Stacks, and that's a pretty useless feature (you should be able to open up children quickly in the Grid and Fan modes).

Really? Well thank the mac OS for your rocket docks and AWMs and the concept of this windows 7 "powerbar." Seriously, if they suck as much as you all say they do, I don't understand why they continue to mainstream hardware and features.

I kinda noticed that too, and if the jump-list thing was the previews for switching windows, then like I said, Exposé already covers that.

Well I don't see how it's NOT better than the Dock. The Dock is pretty much ONLY a launcher. I see some shortcomings of the powerbar, though, namely things like the guy who mentioned MSN's minimize-to-taskbar feature not working the same.

Anyway, all that aside: screw Docks. Quicksilver FTW.

IMO the OS X Expose feature is superior to Aero Peek when it comes to window hunting. There is an Expose clone for Vista called Switcher somewhere.

Has anybody here ever tried to use KDE 4.2 ?
http://kde.org/announcements/4.2/guide.php
Take a look at it. Its design is older than Windows 7's design.
ANYBODY would agree that Windows 7 borrowed lots of stuff here.
Some from Linux and some from Mac.
