You may not be able to buy Windows 7 starter here either.

Do they really need that many bloody versions?! Why not just do a starter for the net books, standard for the rest of us, and ultimate for the servers etc ?! :|

i might be way in the past here, but did they drop the full x64 support and just sticked with x86?

For servers they already have Windows 2k8 server and I'm sure that won't change untill 2012 at least.

If MS makes the ad campaign of w7 really good for once, having multiple versions could be a good thing, but they should avoid what happened with the launch of vista =S

What? No, not really. It's been well documented that the two were two separate branches for a while. Dumbing it down to that statement is a bit ignorant of reality.

How about

Windows 7 Home (Similar to the home premium package)

Windows 7 Professional (the XP Professional equivalent, with drive encryption, roaming profiles, etc)

And 64 bit only, move away from 32 bit and maybe the whole thing will get more streamlined.

Gotta make their money some how. Taking an OS and splitting it into 4 buys classic MS move.
