And on XP, most everybody has an administrator account, and of course, no UAC. Never any problems that an up to date antivirus program doesn't solve.

That script needs admin access which UAC prompts for. This is true of all registry modifications.

Smart browsing is how I keep my computer malware free.

I also run Nod32 64-bit because other computers on my network have limewire on them. :\

You would rather continue to pay for and use extra software, eating resources and your money, than let M$ try to fix the major flaws in their operating system, because you can't be bothered to pretty a button on a dialog box every now and then?

I see that you use linux.... so that may explain it

On Topic: The problem is not in the fact that this is enabled or not, the problem as many hs pointed it is the fact that people don't browse as they have to.... And they don't even know how to protect their systems...

For me, a good potection suite that includes anti-virus, anti-spyware and a strong firewall will be more than enough to feel safe
