Just because the judge signed the warrant doesn't mean there is a good reason. There are corrupt judges just like there are corrupt police officers. In my experience, almost everyone is corruptible. Its just a question of how much and of what.

You can't really have a department-wide corruption problem without having corrupt judges to slap officers on the wrist instead of jail them when the time comes.

Just stand still, the cops here have the worst marksmanship of any I have ever seen. They have thrown 60 rounds at a guy hitting him twice.

We have reasonable 470 benchmarks you can figure out GTX480 performance. At BEST you're going to see ~12.5% increase in performance from 448sp -> 512sp assuming 100% scaling. If there's anything we've learned from 8800gt to 8800GTS and gtx260 to gtx280 that the additional shaders do not quite scale linearly, closer to 70-90% scaling. If GTX470 is 0-10% slower than the 5870, then we can REASONABLY expect GTX480 to be ~5-10% faster than the 5870. As drivers mature the relative performance against the 5870 will change but the 480/470 relative performance won't significantly change.

Those here who think there's more to the story should actually read the source and not just the excerpt here. This sounds like corrupt cops trying to protect their "family" by using legal loop holes to get warrants signed.

This is a real story. Slashdot has even covered it among other sources.

The only question is whether or not this blogger really did do something illegal. No one but him and the cops know the "real" story yet.

The best way to make sure the right damage is done is to hit them with as many rounds as possible.
I have always heard that the most police officers carry handguns with 9mm rounds because they are for incapacitating a dangerous person, rather than outright killing them.

And about the blogger, I would guess that he probably had some sort of illegal doings going on, which prompted the raid. Police usually don't raid people's houses unless they have quite a bit of evidence.

The funniest thing about this is all these people who stand by the constitution in america, and cry "america ftw" when something about censorship comes up in another country are all idiots.

Does america not realise that the constitution has not legal value post the P.A.T.R.I.O.T act? The act removed the constitution's legal position.
