8: Should I wait for Windows 7 release to buy a new computer?

However, if you need a new system now, there is no need to suffer with an outdated, slow, or defective system. A Vista system purchased now will in all likelihood run Windows 7 with no problems. But even though you don’t need to wait until the final release, you might want to wait until June 1 to make your purchase. Buying a Vista system after that date will make you eligible for a free Windows 7 upgrade license. (This applies to Vista Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate editions.)

I added the tag "Why upgrade to Windows 7" for those who need to know why. This article actually gave me some very good reasons for it.

I'm really glad to have read it.

Just remember folks, this only applies to OEM from Dell, HP, and the like, not even the OEM copies from newegg and such count, just when bought from a participating OEM pc maker.

I see no reason to upgrade straight away and I think anyone going from XP to Win7 is a tool. You should've been on Vista a year ago.

Good read, gives some nice reasons to upgrade.

I'll wait until my next reformat to upgrade to 7... My vista installation is working fine.

I might wait a few months after Windows 7 is released to join the wagon. I'm actually very pleased with Vista now. Even though I did enjoy Windows 7 beta.
