I dont see why people make a big deal about apple rejecting apps, they basically will not allow anything they think they can do better in the app store or anything that will compete with a service they provide in the app store.

Main examples would be flash, if we ever do see flash on the iphone it will be crippled because if people could play flash games for free on the iphone why would they buy them from the app store? god forbid

And my next example would be any type of web browser, sweet jesus we need something better than safari.

So i will continue to "shop" from the cydia store for free and by the way there has been a few different bit torrent apps available through cydia for a long time.

Understandable if it was really BitTorrent... but rejecting a remote control program just shows how biased and evil they are.

Well, people are making a big deal out of it because it's kind of a big deal. I don't think anyone would disagree that Apple has the right to refuse to sell any application from their online store. It's kind of stupid to have such apparently ambiguous guidelines as to what will make the cut and what won't, but whatever...their store, they can be ambiguous and arbitrary about that if they want.

But where they cross a big line into potential anti-competition territory is when they explicity prohibit and actively prevent you from acquiring, installing, and using software they do not "approve of" through other channels. For the industrious among you who jailbreak yiur iPhone to get around that ridiculous restriction, Apple brands you a pirate/criminal and takes action to lock you up again with the next software update.

Apple is about as wrong as can be on this issue, and I can't see how they won't be forced to open up eventually. Their business model depends on the app store, so of course they will fight it to the end.

This is why I hate Apple...

And don't say "You don't buy apple, so don't worry about it." I do own an iPod that I only got so I could use it as an External HDD too. (80Gb)
