Honestly..... Microsoft should just not bundle a browser and not provide any means to download one either. Then when people get Win7 without a browser and start complaining, the EU will open their eyes and realize how stupid this whole debate is. Then again, they probably wont realize how stupid the debate it and will be too afraid to pull their heads out of their ***es and admit they were wrong.

what's next, they decide not to let Microsoft sell their own operating system their because they have a monopoly over operating systems

because Microsoft are bound to get 100% market share eventually they have done a good job
it's only a matter of time, granted they are not perfect but they do well, only real opponent is Apple
linux is just not ready for users yet, and even it it does become ready, it wont stand up to Microsoft, or even Apple as a desktop operating system any way

and even Apple only have 9% market share, so unless they pick up the pace they will be out of the operating system market in next 5-10 years granted they are doing well as a company but not so well in the desktop area

of course the tides could easily turn and Apple could get ahead

(don't flame me as a fanboy because i am not that)

(Chrome does not work via FTP apparently)

3. Download it and then run the installer.

This has been a feature of Windows Explorer since as far back as XP IIRC.

The solution is a CD-ROM included with the operating system.

Microsoft informs OS software owners that if they want their software to be included on this CD, they are to tell MS that they want it included. MS include all the agreed softwares on the disc and the job, as they say, is a good one.

That way, if someone's browser isn't on it the disc, it's because the fat cats that own that software couldn't agree to include it with Windows for free.

Personally, having an array of browsers included with the OS bests the FTP option.

And I can't see why the EU did this at all. Maybe it ws important 7 years ago, but right now it's not.
