Forcing one company to give out its competitor's products is even more anti-competition than monopoly, its insane. Why don't they just force MS to give users the option of installing Windows, Linux or OSX on the Windows disc because MS seem to also have a monpoly on the OS market. And to think they are not forcing Apple to ship with IE.

Both antitrust cases have been proper. The stupid part was MS deciding to remove IE8 from Win7 and not include a viable way of using the frigging internet. They should've just included a CD with various browsers on it and the problem is sorted. But no, MS decide to be tools and not include anything and all of a sudden it's the EU's fault? The EU didn't say "you can't include any browser at all"

Well, it's either offer a choice, or offer no browser at all and face a massive backlash from non-tech-savvy consumers unable to get on the internet. No reason why they can't make IE8 seem like the best choice at the browser option menu - simply have IE8 as the default choice, but to change the browser, you must click a 'More' button or something, so the average user will just press next.

That is like telling Linux they have to include IE with their distributions because it's unfair to Microsoft that they aren't including their browser. Thus causing Microsoft to unfairly lose ground in the Linux browser market.

The problem with saying that is that it just isn't true.

The top and bottom of it is quite simple: Americans seem confused about who's actually to blame here. The answer is very simple; Microsoft. They have it well within their power to offer several browsers with their european versions, instead, they plan to cut it.

That is just not true. Its called downloading a browser. I guess they need force MS to remove WMP since it Windows only comes with one media player.... (or did they do that already?)

You're missing the point. Why IE was removed in the first place is because it was purely integrated into the system. IE was a huge magnet for security holes - go look at exploit database sites, you'll find TONS of them. If a user can't choose to opt out of getting hacked by a faulty browser then it's definitely a case of antitrust.
