The only other OS I have is Vista Ultimate, and when I built his rig, I didn't have a working Vista DVD. So meh.

Actually you aren't safe. RC is Build 7100 and thats the build downloadable from MS's website.

Wouldnt disabling "Windows Update" in administrative tools/services eliminate this problem until its released?

...through windows update. No, i think it's been built in to de-activate at a certain time. How it knows the time (ie, you could just change it in the BIOS or windows) i don't know, but i doubt MS would risk people disconnecting from the internet and enjoying a free OS.

Im now using the Win7 64bit RC as my main OS on my laptop and sig rig.

Its brilliant! Can't fault a thing with it :-)

I will definately be buying its full retail release as soon as it hits the shops.
