If the limit was longer than 10 mins, a bunch of people would start putting tv shows on the site, or attempting to. That would put a lot more strain on the staff to keep things cleared off.

I remember back when director accounts gave unlimited time on your videos and you had to fill out a bunch of information. Now its just a goofy logo around your avatar.

I don't get the time limits at all. 2gb is a good move seeing that I was rendering HD quality videos at ~ 500 mb for 3 minutes.

I don't get AT ALL what the problem is. when you do a multi upload of all the parts, it's basically the SAME as if you uploaded one long movie -- same time required for uploading and processing.

As for the having multiple copies, Make one long copy and other short parts. upload the parts and delete them. Super easy.
I don't understand what you are complaining about.
If someone is interested in continuing watching your video, I'm sure they can be bothered to click on "part 2" on side in the Related videos section.

What compression method were you using?

Not a clue since all my profiles from Vegas were wiped when my HD crashed. All I remember it was WMV.

Instead of assuming it's a subjective thing, you should be thinking "maybe I'm doing something wrong", because you are.

Not really. It's mostly dependent on the content of the video, and nothing you can do will change it.

Of course if the video you uploaded is noisy it'll make it harder to compress, but the noise qualifies as part of "content"...
