Default [ABT] Youtube DOUBLES Upload size limit!

Quote:
Youtube today announced that the maximum allowed size for the uploaded videos will increase from 1GB to 2GB. This means that you can upload higher quality files to Youtube from today onwards.
Source

From the Youtube Blog

Quote:
Many of you have been asking for an increase in the size limit of your uploads. We're happy to announce that the size of standard uploads has doubled from 1GB to 2GB. The increase means you can upload longer videos at a higher resolution as well as large HD files directly from your camera.

Size > Time

I can always split videos into multiple parts if it goes too long. But I don't want to compress videos to the point where they look horrible. So this is good.

You'd be very hard pressed to get a 10 minute video to look bad at 1GB.

Ever heard of diminishing returns? The difference becomes insignificant at sizes like that, unless you're using MPEG-1 in 2009 (or Apple's H.264).

No - you're so wrong. I upload 720p 1GB files all day to Youtube. It isn't the file size, its the time limit thats the problem.

Maybe for you. But for me it's the size limit.

Youtube's bandwith is the number one problem...
I upload easily 12GB/day but It would take Youtube 12 days for 12GB...
