Exactly. I'm not a fan of Flash or Silverlight.

I agree with you on avoiding QT, but Silverlight is just plain awesome. It is what Netflix uses to stream, and is what powers the NCAA Tournament March Madness on Demand service. It is a true Flash killer, just is way behind. Plugin size is smaller, compression is better, and it can adjust quality on the fly (which Flash can't). Now with the GPU acceleration, it has a serious leg up technology wise on Flash, and if you look at IT job postings, there are thousands of Silverlight Dev positions that are being created.

![]() Flash also 'works' on Linux. (Not always well...but it works), Silverlight does not have a full-featured Linux client. So, of the two, I take Flash.

And what kind of SDK are you talking about? You can use Visual Studio and any .NET language to create Silverlight apps, right? Quote:

Everyone should be applauding Microsoft on this one, Adobe needs as big a kick in the butt as possible. Their slowness in patching security holes (at least in Adobe reader/Pro) is horrid. A company in this day and age should never utter the words "No future plans to fix this hole" when referring to a security hole. Thats just down right criminal.
