Im using Chrome 4 and FF 3.5.2 And i always have both open. To tell you the truth, i like both of the browsers. I DO however sometimes notice that chrome opens pages faster then FF but most of the time its unnoticeable.

Now for chrome it self, well i just love the interface, how its simple yet so functional. I love that i can type in one latter and my most visited sites come up, or that i never have to switch address bars to search for something.

I personally have usually around 15-20 tabs open at a time on each browser.....i know that its kinda pointless, but i tend to leave a lot of interesting articles up or forums and pages that i might want to come back later to, so when i open up a browser with 20 tabs and Chrome beats FF in loading time, at least that makes me happy

FF does the EXACT same thing.

Oh and why don't they add a point for each extension the browsers have.. then FF wins by 1000s. FF ftw

What I thought was interesting is how close the loading times were for most of the browsers here and ff was 2nd and 3rd in those. But, if you look at the individual tests FF didn't do so well or was in the middle somewhere.

Those results are dependent on processor speed, they are really only useful compared to other browsers on the same system.

And V8 is incredibly biased. I'm almost positive that somewhere in the test routine it checks if the browser is using WebKit, and then adds 1000 points, and then adds a few hundred more if its a google browser.

Sunspider and V8 test basically the same thing, but WebKit's Sunspider puts Chrome 2 at 12% faster than FF 3.5, while Google's V8 puts it at 670% faster.

My Dad keeps saying IE8 is actually GOOD. Now I can show him this.

Running Firefox 3.5 on my PC, Safari 4.1 on my Mac. Surprised Safari for PC performed so well.

One second more or less isn't the issue here, it's the percentage between them.

Before I go into the rest of my post and your eyes glaze over, I'll start out by saying that I use Firefox and I'll continue to use it unless something huge changes with Chrome/Opera. I could care less if they're a fraction of a second faster at some things. The Firefox addons trump any performance benefits any other browser can bring to the table. Yes, I have tried them all multiple times as updates come out. I'm also not comfortable using a browser made by an advertising company.

With that out of the way, here's the important part of my post: You can actually view the source for the V8 test page and see exactly what's in those javascript files. The ones I checked are all pretty easy to figure out, so feel free to take a look through them. I did not notice anything in the source for the main page or the scripts that would give Chrome any benefit at all. The engine behind Chrome just does really well at whatever type of processing those scripts use.

Firefox is faster. I'm using 3.7. I have both that and Google Chrome, well what ever a benchmark made by Google says, Firefox loads the pages better and faster.
