I just read a similar article in a Windows newsletter I receive. It also said that the amount of preorders have been higher than XP and Vista combined.

Also, Amazon has already begun shipping orders for delivery tomorrow.

If it wasnt for microsoft releasing the beta and the RC I doubt 7 would be this popular. That was microsoft's best decision is a long time.

I was expecting it to sell pretty decently, but not to the extent that it did on amazon UK :P

I loved the RC as well, but I get W7 for free through my university (yay msdnaa) so I didn't end up buying a copy of it

Wow...Microsoft is probalbly scambling to make sure there are enough actuall disks ready for the UK. I highly doubt they even thought this would happen.
