Because if you get malware, it can't execute outside XP Mode. It's trapped in there and all you have to do to get rid of it is close XP Mode and then open a new instance.

You can also use Sandboxie. It doesn't work in the same way as XP mode, but rather creates a "secure" box around programs you specify so they can't execute outside of it. It only supports 32bit Windows atm though.

cool software but my proc doesn't support it so all virtualization does is prevent viruses and malware from accessing your computer?

Can you easily save downloads from the XP mode browser into your 7 documents? If so would this negate the protection?

And older office programs to work, along with older hardware (printers, etc) that don't support vista/w7 but Windows XP
