Strange.....RTM Vista is the only Vista I will use. The service packs just make it bloated(as if it needed help there...) and make it whore up my ram like the haters claim it does.

I've put SP1 on twice, now. And twice, my boot times have more than doubled and it ended up being corrupted when, the same game no less, crashed.

Vista has worked PERFECTLY from the day of release for me. Literally, on my laptop I've had Vista since day 1, with not a single BSOD/freeze-up/etc. Vista also ran better on my laptop than XP, and even before SP1 it only used 340mb of RAM, the rest of the RAM consumption was super-fetch. And RAM usage through super-fetch is a good thing.

Well if you had tried SP2, then you would have seen that your boot time decreases, not increases.

Don't know if my rig is similar to the people that tests Vista vs 7...

But the Crysis installation on Vista was 22 minutes longer. Twenty-two. No mistake, no exageration.

HDD Management on Vista was puke-ish. 48MB/s on max transfer between my two HDDs, on 7 I get to 69~.

Apart from that, just slight improves on gaming.

What?

No. Windows XP is incapable, from a kernel level, of running DX10 and DX11.

Who do you think MS works with when developing APIs? MS has a vested interest in making usable/supported APIs while NVIDIA/ATI have a vested interest in running the APIs.

I'll actually want DX11 on anything when there is software that uses it. This won't be for a long while still, so who cares if Vista doesn't get DX11 right away? By the time DX11 starts being used, Vista will get it.

Not putting SP2 on. It requires SP1 to be installed. Not happenin'. RTM Vista runs fine. Not putting any service packs on, and when this install corrupts, Windows 7 goes on instead.

I don't even have Windows Update turned on. Don't need the bloat.

Of course it has. Just like you disagree with every single one of my posts here. It's funny how you ALWAYS beg the differ with everything I say. I take your comments with a grain of salt, trust me.

Yea Vista worked out of the gates. But for example, transferring a file from a USB drive to your Hard drive, or just regular tasks like that, took forever without the SPs. It was awful.
